Gerald T. Sullivan is certified by the American Academy of ADR Attorneys (the only organization recognized to give certification by the Iowa Supreme Court.) Since 2003, he has served in the capacity of mediator in civil litigation matters. He has, however, served as a mediator outside of the State of Iowa. He has also served as an arbitrator.
Sometimes these mediations are conducted without counsel present, but for the most part, each party to the mediation is represented by legal counsel.
These mediations have included disputes over motor vehicle accidents, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, employment law, construction disputes, architect malpractice, workers' compensation, sexual voyeurism, mechanic's lien foreclosures and breach of contract. The personal injury cases include death, emotional distress, very serious injury, and soft tissue injury. Several cases have involved multiple parties on either or both sides of the case.
