Representing You in Your Work Comp Case
When you hire us to handle your workers' compensation claim, we will start by working with any other insurance you have in order to obtain coverage for you while your workers' compensation claim is pending.
We will then contact your employer's workers' compensation insurance carrier and request a copy of your medical records, which are required to be provided to you at no cost. If there are medical records that the work comp insurance carrier does not possess, we will take the necessary action to get those records.
We will then conduct a thorough investigation or your work injury, carefully reviewing the facts and evidence to determine whether there was any legitimate basis for the denial of your claim. We will meet directly with doctors — those selected by your employer as well as those selected by you — to help us make our determination.
If we conclude that your claim was wrongfully denied, we will first look to see if a negotiated settlement will be in your best interests. If not, we will file a contested case proceeding with the Iowa Workers' Compensation Commission (WCC). Our lawyers will handle all filings and hearing throughout the disposition of your case, including all appeals through the WCC and any appeals in state court.
